Are you getting the best merchant rates on credit card transactions?
Several changes have been made to the AIMsi Version 8.0 PCCharge interface to ensure you are getting the best merchant rates on credit card transactions.
A unique ticket number is now sent to PCCharge. This ticket number appears on PCCharge reports and can be referenced back to an AIMsi transaction using the new Ticket Search program under Credit Card Options.
Make sure that you have system variable ‘AuthorizationType’ set to ‘PCCHARGEXML’.
Make sure that you have system variable ‘AuthorizationAddr’ set to ‘T’. This will send the address and zip code to PCCharge.
If you do recurring billing (rental/lesson autopays) you need to be aware of the following: 1) It is the merchants responsibility to make sure that your processor has you setup for recurring billing. If you are not setup for recurring billing the steps below will not get you a better rate.
2) The CVV code needs to be sent on the first payment. Since you are not allowed to store the CVV code in a database, this means that your first payment needs to be done manually so that you can enter the CVV code.
3) The first payment needs to be coded as a recurring charge. You will need to check the ‘Recurring Billing’ check box on the Credit Card Authorization screen. It is not advisable to check this box during a regular sales transaction. Processors do keep track of this recurring billing flag.
4) All subsequent payments need to be marked as recurring billing. This will happen automatically during autopay process.

NAMM COMMITTEE RELEASES LATEST VERSION OF INDUSTRY STANDARDS
Ad-hoc Technology Committee releases Version 2007.1 business-to-business standards for the music products industry
ANAHEIM, Calif., January 17, 2008— NAMM’s Ad-hoc Technology Committee released another two components of its business-to-business technology standards for the music products industry. These documents, the Invoice Document and Item Document are key components of the XML based industry standard which has been dubbed Version ‘2007.1’. Previously published documents include the Purchase Order Document, Functional Acknowledgement Document and the Advanced Shipping Notice Document. The committee met at The NAMM Show to put the finishing touches on the documents. The release consists of XML based documents meant to streamline and improve electronic transactions between trading partners in the music products industry. The committee is also working to add additional documents to the specifications. These additional components are expected to be published later this year.
The Ad-hoc Technology Committee is composed of technical experts that represent the breath of NAMM Member Companies. The committee is composed of the following members: Paul Ward, Roland US; Robin Walenta, West Music; MaryAnne DelMundo, Guitar Center; Jerry Grochowski, Hal Leonard; Steve LaMonde, Kaman; Greg Bryniak, D’Addario; Amy Pearson, Sweetwater; William McGloine, Korg; Pat Murphy, Tri-Tech; Gary Duvall, Yamaha; Tami Ramey, Musician’s Friend and Jason Berry, Musician’s Friend.
The version 2007.1 specification is published on NAMM’s B2B micro-site at http://b2b.namm.org. This site is open to all NAMM Members and also features related B2B discussion forums and other resources for NAMM Members.

We hope everyone had a successful NAMM show. Thanks to everyone that stopped by to see us at the booth. This year we had our biggest booth ever. For those of you that missed us, we had five computers going nonstop showing the system to new dealers and existing dealers checking out the new the Version 8. We had V8 logo M&M’s to hand out and V8 engine sounds rumbling in the background. John Gray was in the booth assisting dealers with questions and explaining his new Out Sourcing program. We also had Mike Farrell explaining his Credit America delinquency program.
The Users Meeting was a great success. We had close to two hundred people packed into the Idea Center. Paul and Pat went over the new V8 features. Many dealers have requested a copy of our power point presentation. You can download the power point from our download page under "Other Files". Here is the link to our V8 Features page.
We will be releasing V8 the first week of February. Give your account rep a call to still receive the NAMM discount on V8. The discount expires January 31.

We have had some recent inquiries about the AIMsi gift card module. The gift card module allows you to track your gift card balance and usage history within AIMsi. The gift cards that work with AIMsi use a proprietary card system that must be purchased from Tri-Tech. Tri-Tech has spent considerable time developing the modules to interface with our cards and changes cannot be made to our software to accommodate 3rd party cards.
Advantages of using the Tri-Tech cards with the AIMsi module include:
-
You own the card. You do not incur per swipe charges or monthly transaction fees.
-
You do not need to purchase additional equipment to read the card. Use your existing barcode or mag-stripe readers.
-
The complete transaction history is tracked within AIMsi.
-
Easily lookup the card balance within AIMsi.
-
Programs to automatically reduce the card balance based on the age or card inactivity.
-
Card balance is automatically printed at the bottom of the customers receipt.
-
Supporting Tri-Tech helps keep our support and upgrade prices well below the industry average.
Please contact your AIMsi Account Representative if you have any additional questions on this module.

A new feature has been added to the consumer to business portion of the active-e shopping cart solution. You now have the ability to create a Topic Page that can only be viewed by those customers that have been enabled for C2B access. To do so you need only start the topic name with "c2b_".
If a customer tries to view a topic that begins with c2b_ and has not been enabled for C2B they will be redirected to the C2B Request Page.

This is the first post for our new RSS News Feed . You may have noticed the little orange XML, RSS or the radio broadcast buttons appearing on websites. These buttons will take you to the news service link. To use this service you must have a news aggregator/reader loaded on your computer. You will need to subscribe to this link in your news reader program. There are several news reader programs available for download. The new internet explorer 7 will have a built in feature to subscribe to news services. The idea is that if you dont always have time to check your favorite sites for content update, you can have your news reader program poll the web sites you subscribe to and it will inform you when new content is available. Active-e users may want to consider using a news feed as a way to bring more people to your internet site.
